Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 head butter lettuce (or iceberg/bibb), leaves separated
  • Optional: shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Chicken:
    In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and ginger for 1 minute.
  2. Add Chicken:
    Add ground chicken and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Make it Saucy:
    Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Add chopped water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
